During Math time, the class talks about the calendar and we have special days that we acknowledge. Well, Monday is Columbus Day, and I asked the students "what is so special about Monday?"
One of my little girls said, "Monday is Oompaloompa Day!" She was so pleased that she remembered that! Her smile was about 1000 watts.
I had to go and say, "Close, chicky, but it's really called Columbus Day." Darn me for needing to teach the little children the correct things!
